Description

The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial activities of the company in Romania, ensuring compliance with local regulations, providing insightful financial analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making. This position reports directly to the [e.g., Country Manager, Finance Director] and will collaborate closely with various departments within the organization.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with Romanian accounting standards (O.M.F.P.) and group reporting requirements.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain key financial performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insightful reports to management.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against targets.

Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all local financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements in Romania.
  • Manage relationships with local tax authorities, auditors, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of all statutory reports, tax returns, and other mandatory submissions.

Financial Control and Risk Management:

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Identify and assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.

Treasury and Cash Management:

  • Manage the company's cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
  • Oversee banking relationships and manage bank accounts.
  • Process payments and manage accounts payable and receivable.

Business Partnering:

  • Provide financial support and guidance to other departments, including sales, operations, and marketing.
  • Collaborate on business initiatives, providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute financial expertise.

Expectations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CECCAR) is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting standards (O.M.F.P.) and local tax regulations.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency in financial management software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely. 
  • Fluency in Romanian and English is essential.
